• ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY!

It was good to see our community at our information event to celebrate World Autism Awareness day 2012 at Frances Bardsley School.

The feedback about the speaker Dean Beadle was very positive and despite it not being a fundraising event, RAGS raised almost £700!

So a big thank you to all the people who helped on the day and made donations.

A very special mention goes to our Daniel Shelton, who was awarded the RAGS Young Volunteer of the Year award on the day!

THANK YOU, Daniel! We couldn't do what we do without people like you.

Studio3 Arts is an arts organisation delivering visual, digital and performing arts programmes across several London boroughs. Having extensive experience working with young people with additional needs, Studio3 artists will work together with RAGS staff to ensure this project is safe, fun and catered to the needs of our specific youngsters.

Offered to young people of senior school age (11 - 19 years) with additional needs, there will be something for everyone, including imaginative story development, music and digital audio manipulation, puppet making and set building, drama / performing arts. On the last day, there will be an exhibition / performance where attendees will be able to share their creations with family and friends. This is a rare, NOT-TO-BE-MISSED opportunity for your youngster, so don't miss out!

  • RAGS Hosted Fabulous, Accessible Panto for the Additional Needs Community

For all those unable to access theatrical performances due to disabilities and additional needs, RAGS hosted an accessible, "disability friendly" theatrical performance of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, last December.

Furthermore, three of our very own RAGS boys were members of the cast of amateur dramatists. Stephen Feather, Zack Jacobsohn and Joe Myatt are keen to do it all again for 2012, so watch this space!

The feedback indicates that it was a resounding success. Check out the photo album HERE!
